Glass Eye’s portfolio is finally open for business with today’s launch of a 24-page comic TRUE GRIT: MEAN BUSINESS.
Commissioned by Paramount to promote the international release of the Coen Brothers’ movie TRUE GRIT, it’s inspired by the dime novels that first brought fame and notoriety to the heroes and villains of the old American west.
Available in seven languages, the best place to go for the English language version is Comixology where you can read it using their really rather excellent comic viewer, or just grab a PDF version here.
At some point I’ll pen a Watchmenesque post on my other blog with a bit more detail on exactly how we’ve gone about putting it together, but in the mean time doffed caps to Annie, Ben, Christian and Jim.
UPDATE 10.45am 28/01/2011
MEAN BUSINESS is now available in French (via Manolo Sanctis), German (via mycomics.de) and Italian (via Comicus), with a Spanish version due to go live later today. Big up to Rory and Rubber Republic for tireless work bringing this to the wider world.
The English language version is available for iPhone as well as via Comixology’s browser-based viewer. This version is also available on comics site Graphic.ly.
Versions are currently on their way for Kindle and Apple iBooks – the best way to keep track of when these become available is to keep an eye on www.truegritmovie.co.uk/dimenovel.
